A Historical Note
The American expression Free Lunch (a much desired concept in most circles) first came into circulation in the 19th century, originally referred to a tradition widespread in saloons all over the USA. Saloons, strangely enough, indeed offered free lunches, and those ranged from basic to elaborate. To qualify, you had to (you've guessed it) buy at least one drink (although the lunch itself was worth more!).And WWW, or the World Wide Web (in case you haven't heard, hello?!) on which you are now vigorously promoting yourself is, technically speaking, is a system of interlinked hypertext pages hosted on a multitude of computers, which you access via the giant network called the Internet. It was conceived by the British computer scientist Sir Tim Berners-Lee and defined by him in a proposal of 1989. Long live the World Wide Web!
