Excellent Colorado Dining
A drive through Woodland Park isn’t a memorable adventure without stopping at the quaint log restaurant known as the Hungry Bear. Even locals have trouble making it past the restaurant on Highway 24 without stopping at the Hungry Bear, especially for breakfast. Although the Hungry Bear has an extensive menu, substitutions are allowed for those of us who can’t stop at choosing one item. It’s too hard to pass up the omelets and it’s impossible to leave without an order of pancakes. The Hungry Bear is so much of a favorite place for locals, tourists and anyone passing through town that it’s packed most days of the week, and the parking lot is always crowded. Fortunately, there’s lots of parking around back. Although a line at the door isn’t unusual, the extraordinary service keeps the line moving, and even if there’s a wait, it’s always worth it.
